The majority of engagement parties you attend tend to be quite predictable. But it's always fun to have a creative engagement party and add an unusual twist to the normal theme so that the party can be interesting. This helps the guests get more involved and results in a more memorable event.

This is certainly one of the most relaxed ideas for a friendly engagement party since it has a less official feel to it. You can make this party more folksey by offering your guests hot dogs, various salads, burgers and coleslaw. And obviously some nice steaks will always be a good option.

Brunch

You can decide to have the party over brunch. This is great for a small party

You may make a range of foods such as canapés, pastries and any other delectable dishes. If you would like to have alcohol at the engagement party, you can opt to provide cocktails. Everyone that is invited to the party will get a plate and have plenty of time to talk. If you aren't really the sort of person who enjoys doing this yourself, simply book yourself into a nice cafe which caters for brunch.

Restaurant

You may also hold your engagement party at a restaurant. However, if your engagement will have in excess of 12 guests, then you should think about booking a room in one of your preferred eateries.

You may also get more creative with the party planningy and implement some sort of theme that would involve guests potentially coming in fancy dress or taking the guests to a venue like a zoo or outdoor attraction that's suitable to catering for a group of people.
